If the toilet flusher broke, then do not rush for the phone and call a plumber right away. Changing the handle of the toilet bowl or tightening in some loose screws may fix the common problems, and they are simple tasks that you can DIY. Furthermore, you can save some money if you can fix the problem by yourself. 

Before you do anything else, first you must decide upon the model of the flusher that you are going to install. There are a wide variety of models and designs in the market that you can choose. With an automatic or foot toilet flusher model, you will be able to completely update your bathroom fixture and make it more suitable for your needs. The only thing you will need to 100% make sure is that the new flusher fits and that you can attach it to the mechanism of your toilet. Otherwise, you may just waste your time and money.

After you decide on the model that you want to install, then it is time to start working on changing the flusher. The first step that you will need to take is to turn down the water. In order to turn off the water supply, you will need to look along the line of the tube, sometimes, it is pipe, that connects the toilet tank and to water line and locate a button or knob. Simply push it or turn it in the off position to cut off the water flow.

Then, you need drain all the remaining water in the toilet tank. Since the current flusher is broken, you will need to lift up the cover and do it manually. You should leave the cover of the toilet tank aside while you are installing the new flusher, so that it does not get in your way. On the other hand, Toilet Repair, if you need to connect the flusher to the cover, then you should ask someone to help you hold the cover.Usually, the cover is a little heavy. If you are not careful, you may break it.

The third step is to remove the mechanism that connects the flusher to the toilet. Most flushers are connected to the tank via small chains and screws. Therefore, remove it by unhooking or unscrewing the parts that keep it connected to the toilet. Cannot be more simpler.

After you remove the old flusher, simply slide the new toilet flusher through the open hole, and attach the new flusher by screwing or hooking the parts to the ones from which you have detached the previous flusher. 

In the last step, you will need to test your newly installed device. Therefore, turn on the water supply and wait a few minutes until the toilet tank is starting to fill up. After that, use the toilet flusher and see if it is working properly. If it is not working correctly, then you will need to take a closer look to the way you connected the device to the tank.
 
All these steps are pretty simple even you do not have experience of DIY for home improvement. Once the toilet flusher is working as intended, then all you will need to do is to  put the cover of the toilet tank on and your work is done.
